Border Project of Excellence for Childhood Obesity Prevention2010 Resaca Grove Farm was chosen as one of two projects by the US/Mexico Border Health Commission for the 2010 Border Project of Excellence for Childhood Obesity Prevention. This award recognizes our role in making fresh produce available to the families of Brownsville. Our community is in the process of changing the way we eat, and making great-tasting local produce a mainstay in our diets is a vital part of that effort.

Brownsville Farmer's Market2008-2009 Mike Pierce, owner of Resaca Grove Farm served on the organizing committee of the Brownsville Farmer's Market. Mike served as a board member and as treasurer for the market's first year. Resaca Grove Farm sold 18lb bags of Rio Red Grapefruit at the market and did so again for the 2009-2010 season.
Valley Land Fund Photo Contest
In 2008 Resaca Grove Farm partnered with Tyler, Texas photographer Suzy Beck in the small tract division of the Valley Land Fund Photo Contest. We didn't win but the nature, wildlife and farm photographs that Suzy took are beautiful. It was a great experience. Winning photographs are featured in a beautiful book. Our store, Country Casuals will have a limited number of books to sell for the holidays. Please let us know if you are interested and we will get the information to you.
